Bible Question:
What was the time period in which Paul wrote to Titus? Where was Paul at that time? Where were Paul and Titus before Crete? |
Bible Answer: The only time that scripture records that Paul visited Crete was in Acts 27:7 while Paul was being transferred as a prisoner to Rome. There were two things that were somewhat unusual, at least to us, about Paul's imprisonment. The first is that he was allowed to be accompanied by friends. The second was that he was allowed go away with his friends so that they could minister to his needs. (Acts 27:3) Paul apparently used this time to speak to people about Jesus and some churches were started. The reason for the urgency that caused Paul to leave before elders could be appointed and the churches set up was that he was a prisoner aboard a ship that was desperately trying to find a safe place for winter. In answer to your questions, the time that Paul wrote to Titus was within one or two days from leaving Titus behind. It was probably written from on board the ship before they left Crete behind, and Paul and Titus and several others were traveling to Rome. I hope this will help. May god richly bless you. |
