AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 26:18 to open their [spiritual] eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness and release from their sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified (set apart, made holy) by faith in Me.' [Is 42:7, 16] |
Bible Question:
1 John 1:5, NASB, copyright 1995, reads "And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:7 goes on and reads, "but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin." In the previous 1977 copy the Lockman Foundation had "light" in lower case. I had always penciled in for my personal copy the upper case Light so I was encouraged in my interpretation by the most recent copyright. My question here is whether the upper case Light should be considered for Acts 26:18 as well. My argument for Light [sic] is that the relationship of darkness and the dominion of Satan contrasts with the "to Light" and "to God". More comments from anyone? From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: (1Thes 5:5) Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. |
