Bible Question:
Dear Doc, Your quote : "... by taking in persons who have never been born again ... it is a loss rather than a gain... " Is the church solely (both physical and functional) for believers? What I have experienced in my church, we have couples with unbelieving spouses joining us. Some finally repent, some not yet. We also have a sister in our cell group who admitted that she converted to Christ but still cannot restrain from her adultery behaviour (we have talked to or even scolded her about her sinful behaviour already, but she said she cannot stop it and perfer the man over going to church). However, she is so much attracted by our fellowship that she keeps on joining us (our cell group gathering). We would like to keep her in hoping that she would not be lost forever. We really don't know what to do but prayers. Shalom Azure |
Bible Answer: The doors of the church are open to anyone and everyone. Church membership, however, is open only to those who are born again. The church is the body of Christ -- believers who are in union with Christ. Unregenerate people will never be part of the body of Christ unless and until they are born again. |
