Bible Question: if jesus was sent to die for our sins then why do pilate and judas get blamed for killing him |
Bible Answer: Tomanyquestions, As best I understand, neither Pilate nor Judas are directly responsible for Christs' death. They certainly could be viewed as "accomplices" in Gods' predetermined plan" though. As Judas betrayed Jesus ( John 18:13) he was responsible for handing Him over to the Roman authorities. Pilate, though he found no fault with Him, nevertheless acquiesed to the crowds' demands and handed Christ over to be crucified. ( Matt.27:11-26) To answer your question, we can look at what the apostle Peter spoke at Pentecost to the Jews,"“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death" The Jews were "pierced to the Heart.." when they heard this. (Acts 2:37) I believe we could say that "nationally' the Jews were responsible in that they rejected Him as their Messiah. Speaking the Truth In Love, BradK |
