NASB | Acts 17:18 And also some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him. Some were saying, "What would this idle babbler wish to say?" Others, "He seems to be a proclaimer of strange deities,"--because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 17:18 And some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to engage in conversation with him. And some said, "What could this idle babbler [with his eclectic, scrap-heap learning] have in mind to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a proclaimer of strange deities"--because he was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection. |
Bible Question: what approach did paul take in trying to reach these people?WHAT DOES HE NOT USE?How successful were his efforts Acts17:18-34 |
Bible Answer: Hi Beanna: You go right ahead and ask your question as many times as you want. WE ALL understand that you only came to the FORUM today. Now on to your question. the way you asked it, I can only say. Paul took the approach you have posted in Verses 18-34 He apparently doesnt use any other approach, because it isnt recorded. There was a Church established in ATHENS, so I assume his efforts were successful. That is the only way I can answer your question. Hope it is enough. GOD BLESS Jim |
