Bible Question (short): Believe verb form, tense and mood |
Question (full): In the familar story of the Phillipian jailer. The jailer asks: " Acts 16:30 "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" At which point they said to him: 31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." The question I have concerning these verses is this: in verse 31 what form, tense, and mood is the verb "believe" in as found here? Secondly the phrase from verse 31 "thou shalt be saved" Is that in present, as well as future tense, or does that refer to the endurance of one who has believed? Grace and peace be multiplied unto thee zach† |
