Subject: Will child of saved parents be saved? |
Bible Note: Believe And Be Saved Question: "WHEN IS A CHILD SAVED?" Answer: When he believes. NASB Acts 16:31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." '"and your household." These words must be connected with "believe" as well as "be saved." Each member of the household must believe in order to be saved' (Ryrie Study Bible). Question (long): "when a child is born if the parents are saved will the child...also be saved?" Answer: No. Salvation is neither guaranteed nor automatic based on the parents' position in Christ. God has no grandchildren. Salvation is a gift of God, not an inheritance from one's parents. Believe in the Lord Jesus. 'One must believe He is who He claimed to be (John 30:31) and believe in what He did (1 Cor. 15:3,4).' You and your household. 'All of his (the jailer's) family, servants, and guests who could comprehend the gospel and believe heard the gospel and believed. This does not include infants' (MacArthur Study Bible). |
