Bible Question (short): Can we eat medium rare meat or not? |
Question (full): Hi all, Can we eat medium rare meat (like a steak) or not? What does the Word say and what are your thoughts? Here is an extract Do not eat or drink anything that has the blood of an animal still in it, e.g. blood pudding (1 Sam. 14:34). Do not eat rare, medium rare or medium cooked meat because the meat still contains blood. “Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.” (Lev 19:26 NIV). The blood needs to be cooked so that no more life left in it, so rather eat well done meat. Try to eat kosher meat. “Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life with the meat… You shall not eat it, that it may go well with you and your children after you, when you do what is right in the sight of the LORD” (Deut. 12:23,25). God told us directly and plainly “do not eat the blood”. Paul confirmed it in the New Testament, “Abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.” (Acts. 15:29). So do not be deceived by your own understanding. God said, “Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good” (Is. 55:2). |
