Bible Note: WOS and Doc, To me that's a very sad thing - the gentiles should have learned to live along side the Jewish believers. After all it was(is) their Messiah that brought salvation to us. It was through the Jewish people that we can have the Torah (and it is alive and well). I do not believe that we can pick and choose which of the Lord's commandments from the Tanakh to observe than we can pick and choose of those in the NT. :-) Lev 18:3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. Lev 18:4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. What does America look like? Deu 28:9 The LORD shall establish thee a holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. We have been grafted into this promise. Jos 22:5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. And grafted into this. The Lord's yoke is not difficult or burdensome, it's easy and a delight. Psa 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psa 119:106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments. Pro 6:20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Pro 6:21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. Pro 6:22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. Pro 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Cheri |
