NASB | Acts 13:46 Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, "It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first; since you repudiate it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 13:46 And [at the same time] Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and confidently, saying, "It was necessary that God's message [of salvation through faith in Christ] be spoken to you [Jews] first. Since you repudiate it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, now we turn to the Gentiles. |
Bible Question: Paul's missionary work created a controversy in the church. What was the nature of the Jew-Gentile controversy and how did the church handle it? |
Bible Answer: Acts 13:46 is not about the controversy that later arose. It was a statement about the Jews rejecting the good news about Jesus. So Paul turned to the gentiles. Not sure that answers your question. |
