Bible Question:
Was John's baptism a one time thing or like the levitical sacrifices which were offten repeated? In Him, lionheart |
Bible Answer: Mt 3:3: For this is he that was spoken of through Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, "Make ye ready the Way of the Lord, make His paths straight. How? He told people to bring forth fruit worthy of repentance and that has not changed. Also, Jn 1:6. There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John. 7. The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the Light, that all might believe through him. 8. He was not the Light but came that he might bear witness of the Light. 9. There was the true Light, even the Light which lighteth every man, coming into the world. After Jesus Christ symbolically cleansed the physical temple the unbelieving Jews questioned His authority. Why did He ask them about John's baptism? Were the unbelieving Jews the only ones who hadn't believed what John the Baptist declared about Jesus Christ? |
