NASB | Acts 12:11 When Peter came to himself, he said, "Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 12:11 When Peter came to his senses, he said, "Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and has rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting [to do to me]." |
Bible Question: What does it mean when it says quote "When Peter came to himself..." |
Bible Answer: From the context just a couple of verses previous, Acts 12:9 And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. It seems that Peter wasn't fully awake or something like that. So in, verse 11 Peter is fully aware of what has just happened. There's not a whole lot more information given. God bless, Rowdy |
