Bible Question: Is the United States of America a Christian nation? |
Bible Answer: Dear onnig, Greetings in Jesus' name! No, America is not a Christian nation. Truly, it never was. No nation ever was. Only individuals or churches can be named Christian. Frankly, even a whole church would have a hard time living up to this standard, but grace is applied to the local gathering of living stones being fitted together, by faith, into a family of God. No nation in history has been successful in creating a true religious state. To try and force this faith upon all inhabitants dilutes the faith, and turns it into dead religion.
