Subject: Difference between christian/ disciple |
Bible Note: Greetings Tduplechain! While it is certainly true that Jesus is never mentioned as having used the word 'Christian', Scripture certainly does use it in reference to believers. Nor is there is prohibition against using the term. The important thing is not whether one describes himself a as 'Christian', 'believer', 'disciple', 'follower', 'sheep', 'Body of Christ', ect.... The important thing is whether or not you have accepted His gift of salvation. Now, if you are simply trying to articulate that the term 'disciple' has a deeper meaning than 'believer' or 'follower', I would agree with you. A disciple, according to the Great Commission is someone who reproduces other disciples. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
