NASB | Acts 10:14 But Peter said, "By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 10:14 But Peter said, "Not at all, Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is common (unholy) and [ceremonially] unclean." |
Bible Question:
Peter replies to the voice, 'Lord,' and I am wondering if this is the same as: (Act 10:4 KJV) And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. |
Bible Answer: Though both references are "Lord" Acts 10:4 suggests that it is to the Person of the Holy Spirit, who was manifesting Himself at the time that He was building the Church, through the believers. While Peter, an Apostle of Christ, had a direct history with Jesus, who continued to communicate with the Apostles ("I will be with you always, till the end of time..."). I hope this is helpful! God Bless! |
