NASB | Acts 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth." |
Bible Question: What does it mean to be "My witnesses?" Is this the same as sharing the testimony of our personal conversion or is it something more? |
Bible Answer: Mommapbs Jesus knew talk was cheap. To be "My witness" means to walk the walk before the world. Jesus called us to salt and light, not chameleons that blended in. The only way we would know many of His “witnesses” today, would be if we happened to see them go into church on Sunday. And I said Sunday since most don’t go near there any other time. EdB |
