Bible Question:
What does the bible say about God's callings. I know many people felt the calling to lead others to Christ. This is what I am referring to. |
Bible Answer: LostSheepProdicalSon -- Welcome to Study Bible Forum. In your user name, don't you mean prodigal son? ..... One of the last things that Jesus did before He ascended into heaven was to issue His "calling" (perhaps the better word is either "command" or "commission") to His disciples. As recorded in Matthew 28:18-20, He said, "All authority has been given Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." These words of our Lord are commonly known as the Great Commission, and since the day Jesus spoke them, they have been the marching orders to all Christians everywhere. --Hank |
