Bible Note: Greetings - Both passages are talking about the day that Christ rose. And when Jesus had risen early the first day of the Sabbath, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons (Mar 16:9). After that He appeared in another form to two of them, walking and going into the country (Mar 16:12) and Afterward He appeared to the Eleven as they recline (Mar 16:14) In the John passage it tals about Mary finding the empty tomb and then it says Then the same day at evening, being the first of the sabbaths(Joh 20:19). So both passages talk about the first visit of Jesus to the upper room. If they both didn't refer to the "first of the sabbaths" then it might be quite possible that Mark was talking about a later event. prayon |
