Bible Question: What did the people in the upper room do? And What were the thr names given to th othr men considered with Matthias for the apostoeship? Were the disciples, the only ones baptized with the Holy Spirit? |
Bible Answer: bajackson39 They devoted temselves to prayer.See Luke 24:49-53, Acts 1:4, 14. The other disciples beside the Apostles, Mary the mother of Jesus, and the other holy women were most likely the 70 Luke 10:1-12 from which the 12 Apostles are differentiated. This is deduced from the description of matthias and the dreoup from which he was chosen Acts 1:15-26. It would appear that the Holy Spirit decended upon all present on that day of Pentrecost. Later in Acts we see the Holy Spirit coming upon others upon whom the Apostles laid hands and also on Cornelius the Centurion and his household as Peter preached. Emmaus |
