Subject: Do you yet say that Jesus was just a man |
Bible Note: Hi jlpangilinan, Thanks for answering, Johnny. The point that I always try to make as a "capitalizer" is as you have written "He is God". I've been studying from the NASB and NKJ so long that I could not read for very long in any other version. For instance, John l:2 that you have referenced I would have to think, "The Same was in the beginning with God." Of course the Greek reads "THIS ONE" or "He was in the beginning with God." I need to have a copy that gives glory to God by capitalizing the Man and His words. And I think that anyone who writes about god consistently should be under close scrutiny; but that is my particular bias. I think that your quote of Philippians would show the contrast between the Man and the servant in the likeness of men, if it were in the NASB or NKJ. I want the forum members to give glory to God and recognize the Man, Jesus Christ. I want our churches to be true to the one God and to know Him. So I appreciate that you testify that He is God. I would go farther than the NASB and NKJ when I consider Philippians 2:8, "And being found in appearance as a *Man, He humbled Himself...Therefore also God highly exalted Him..." I still have this question then of whether we have to think of Jesus at all now as a man. From the heart, Ray |
