Subject: Are Jesus and God 2 or 1? |
Bible Note: Provided for context: John 10:24 The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly." John 10:25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me. John 10:26 "But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; John 10:28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. John 10:29 "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. John 10:30 "I and the Father are one." It seems pretty obvious (to me at least) that Jesus was saying that He and Father are one Being. That is they think alike. Their priorities are one and in perfect harmony. Don't get me wrong, there are just a few things that even Jesus didn't know, at least not then. Mk 13:32 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. Thus we see in this some clear distinctions among the three that make up this Godhead but for us humans in our finite understanding, God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit are all one. I hope this is clear. Blessings to you. Country Girl |
