Bible Question:  In verse 8, Jesus says that he is not going to the feast. Then in this verse, he goes. What am I missing here? I know he wanted to go quietly, but why tell his disciples he wasn't going?

Bible Answer:  jesus didnt say that he wasnt going , he said he wasnt going yet, posible reason is that the common people wanted to make him a king, 2. his enemyes were trying to find anything to accuse him of, 3. he said that his time was not yet come, he had to fulfill prophsy, which was concerning his intrence into jeruselem on the donkie.so at this time he didnt want to enter with any fanfair.
