Bible Note: Hi, The answer to the question is no. Paul makes this plain: Rom 10:12-17 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?... So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. John does as well: John 3:18 Whoever believes in him (i.e., Jesus) is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. Steve |
