Bible Question: What is the traditional (early) date the Gospel of John was written. |
Bible Answer: Opinions vary among scholars. Some say as early as the 60's A.D. and others as late as 120 A.D. Most scholars hold to the 90s A.D. Personally I prefer the early date becaause of John 5:2 which says: "there IS a pool near the Sheepgate.." If written after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 A.D. it is more likey the phrase would have been "there WAS a pool near the Sheepgate..." Emmaus |
