NASB | John 3:26 And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 3:26 So they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi (Teacher), the Man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan [at the Jordan River crossing]--and to whom you have testified--look, He is baptizing too, and everyone is going to Him!" |
Bible Question: how is it determined that Jesus did not baptize anyone. In the NKJV the verse reads "And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified-behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him! How do we arrive at the coclusion that only the disciples were baptizing? Is there a scriptural passages that denotes or states this for biblical fact or is this an interpretation derived from the Greek or Aramaic texts? |
Bible Answer: Here is something to think about: Jn 20:21. Jesus, therefore, said to them again, "Peace be unto you. As the Father hath sent me, even so send I you." Did the Father ever send His Son to baptize with physical water? |
