Subject: Why do i need to love god? |
Bible Note: All I can say is that we should comply with the obvious guidance in our Bibles, God's Word. Throughout the NT, the guidance is very clear. In becoming christians, we establish a personal relationship with God, through His Son and His Blood shed on the cross. AFTER becoming christians, we must maintain that relationship through studying His Word and praying for continued guidance. This is all made very clear in 1 John. IF we neglect this relationship, then we can repent and re-establish that connection. We also must maintain our relationship with our fellow man, most especially our fellow christians. I'm not sure about the wording, as you say "right being" or "good works" but I'm quite certain we MUST maintain this balance between worshipping in Spirit AND in Truth. We MUST maintain this balance between love for God AND love for our fellow man. AND we MUST maintain this balance between faith in God and good works as described in James 2. This way, our good works is proof of our faith in God. I hope all this is a little clearer. God bless you. Inquisitor. |
