Subject: Why did David choose five stones? |
Bible Note: We don't know but I imagine the fact that there were 5 giants who were brothers in the Philistine camp would have been something everyone knew and had talked about more than once. Remember the Children of Israel knew about giants in the land since the days of the Exodus when the spies reported back that there were giants in the land. I'm sure the kept track of their commings and goings. I think picking up 5 stones demonstrates David's trust and faith in God, he was ready to defeat all 5 giants should the need arise. edB |
