Bible Note: Greetings proorizo! I have read your e-mail to Norrie and I have tread this ground before on the Forum. All one would need to do is to look in the Forum's history to see where exactly I stand when concerning the Scriptures that you have cited and the ideas that you are presenting. You have stated, "Where does Scripture say that all are called in the context of "all individuals"? Please re-read 2 Peter 3:9 where it states, "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for ALL TO COME TO REPENTANCE." You have led me to believe that you subscribe to the belief that only certain individuals are called to repentance and/or salvation. If this is so, then there are also certain individuals who are called to damnation also. So, I ask you, where in Scripture does it say that certain people are called to eternal damnation? Please also see 1 John 2:2, "and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world." Doesn't the word "world" mean "world", as in the entire world? I do believe in election. However, that is where I believe that the similarities in our beliefs ends. Your Brother in Christ, Nolan |
