Bible Question: what does John3:1-16 mean |
Bible Answer: Hi nae-nae 04, You should probably tell us what is on your mind so that we can focus on it. But here is the way I look at your passage. I see John claiming Jesus as the Teacher come from God. I see Jesus saying that we must be born from above. We are born from water and from (s)Spirit. I see five words of "spirit" here for me personally right now. For verse 10 I see Jesus recognizing Nicodemus as the teacher [sic] of Israel, yet he doesn't understand these things. It will be difficult for us to understand these things. For verse 11, I see five pronouns of Deity, so I go with the NKJ for that verse. John 3:11, NKJ, "Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness." The key verse, the bottom line, is that we believe in Him. We believe in Him as the only begotten God. We believe in Him as Spirit. We accept His witness as the Teacher, even the Spirit of truth. From the heart, Ray |
