Subject: Was the wine alcoholic or not |
Bible Note: I'm sorry if I implied that you were being deceitful. I did not mean that. I only meant that, as you correctly indicate, the focus was on the 'excess'. I felt this was important because of the normal followup comments we often hear from non-believers. I expect that unbelievers read the comments found on this site as well as believers. Although we have liberty in Christ for things not condemned in scripture, some things I elect not to do. Some of my Brothers have asked, "if it is alcoholic, does that mean drinking is OK?" I believe that although I have the liberty in Christ to drink the wine, I elect not to, particularly in public because, 1.) my witness before unbelievers will be harmed and thus my Lord will be harmed; 2.) Alcoholic beverages dull the senses and effect my ability to determine what is 'Excess'. I prefer personally to avoid the pitfalls. Others may disagree and that is their liberty. Please forgive me if I have harmed your spirit in any way. God bless you. |
