Subject: Was the wine alcoholic or not |
Bible Note: Greetings Free Thinker! This is a complex subject, about which I have posted many times. There are 11 words in the Old Testament which are translated "wine." There are 4 words in the New Testament which are translated "wine." Each of the words have slightly different meanings and can refer to the product of the grape in each of it?s various stages. So, one cannot simply make the statement that every word translated 'wine' in the Bible always refers to an alcoholic beverage. One must do quite a bit of study on this topic and a careful examination of context to determine how each word is used. If you would like to read some of the word studies I have posted on this topic, you can enter the number '11707' into the search box on the top right, or you can select the seach option on the top left of the page and search for my user name (Morant61) and enter 'wine' as the subject. The first option will led you to one post, while the second will led you to all of the posts I have made on this subject. Happy hunting! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
