Subject: Was the wine alcoholic or not |
Bible Note: Free Thinker: You directed your response to Mathew although by its content I believe it was meant for me. You write: "I believe the question was "Was the wine alcoholic or not? The answer is yes. How does John 2:10 change that?" ..... John 2:10 certainly doesn't change anything about the wine that Noah drank in Genesis 9 or that Lot drank in Genesis 19 that made them as drunk as fiddlers. But the question on the table concerns the properties of the wine mentioned in John 2:10. You claim proof that this wine contained alcohol by citing two examples given in Genesis. That's no better proof than claiming that the boat on which Jesus sailed the Sea of Galilee was identical with the ark that prevented Noah and his family from perishing in the flood. --Hank |
