AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 17:12 "While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and protected them, and not one of them was lost except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. [Ps 41:9; John 6:70] |
Subject: "The son of perdition [Judas Iscariot]" |
Bible Note: Hi Kalos - so if 2 plus two equals 4 then how does the son of perdition in 2 Thess equal the son of perdition in John? You indicated in your first post that they were one and the same. If Judas was/is the son of perdition and the one we know as anti-messiah, antichrist or the personal beast or Revelation is/will be the son of perdition how can they be one and the same? As I consider the work of Satan, I see that he often mimicks the work of God. The incarnation of Christ is counterfited in the embodiment of Satan. In Judas he betrayed Jesus, in the antichrist, he will betray the world. Seems like with two embodiments Satan attempts to "one-up" God - but just as Jesus had authority oover him in John 13:27, God will exercize His dominion and soverign rule over the devil for eternity in the end! We can't even begin to imagine what that will be like for us - finally free from the presence of sin. Blessings, mommpabs |
