Bible Note: AO, I believe you have misunderstood, and you really should have given that comment a little more thought before posting. How do you know how much effort I put into my relationship with the Lord? Is that not a judgemental comment? I believe that when we are saved, we are saved and I'm not saying that we do not have to obey the word of God. We are saved by Grace. If we are living the word, we are producing good fruit. What I meant by discipline is that when we have a relationship with the Lord, we WANT to do what is right in the eyes of God and therefore it is not an effort. If we continually look at living God's word as an effort and something that we are told to do, but don't want to do, where is our love for the Lord? When most people are saved, they don't know how to live the word. God guides us through his words in the bible. This does not happen overnight. We can do nothing without God and that I believe was his point in John 15. Living in the Light of Christ is a Fruit that will Remain. Actions speak louder than a thousand words. I may not have a gift to preach God's word, but my life shows his word in everything I do. I stand by my statement and my beliefs. We will never be perfect in this world and there will always be disagreements in beliefs. But the bottomline is, we are not here to please each other, but to please God...Love In Christ.....Barb |
