Bible Question: Jehonadab, in Post #100809 I asked you a question which you have not answered. Perhaps you didn't see it. The question had to do with your belief about Christ. Do you acknowledge the full deity of Christ? Do you believe that Christ is very God, or do you believe He is a god, as John 1:1 in the New World Translation says? Do you believe that Christ is the sole means of salvation, that no one comes to the Father but by His Son, Jesus Christ? --Hank |
Bible Answer: I may be answering a question posed to someone else yet as a new user, I am compelled to respond and add my belief. This from NIV In John 14, Jesus answers the deity question. 1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." 8Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." 9Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? Furthermore even before His birth Isaiah referred to Jesus... the "SON" who was to come to us, as "THE EVERLASTING FATHER" Isaiah 9:6 NIV 6 For to us a child is born,to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Also Isaiah foretold that redemption and salvation would come only by the suffering of The Christ Isaiah 53 NIV 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. 11 After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. So my response: Truly He is God the Son, and God the Father! The Word substantiates that He is our ONLY salvation (none of us can fulfill the law). All of this being true then it stands to reason that no one comes to the Father except by the Christ, Jesus! -Khuck |
