Bible Question (short): where is my joy?

Question (full): I am a Christian and love the Lord. However the more I seek to know of Him and learn of Him the more the joy of my salvation seems further and further from me. When I see how many of my friends and loved ones call themselves Christians but show no fruits of such as well as take the Lords name in vain or sin without hesitation thinking that because they believe that that is all that is required which I know is not correct. With so many being lost this life seems to hold less joy and it is difficult for me, knowing this, even though it is my prayer for them to come to know the savior to feel sadness in my Christian walk. I pray for God to restore the joy of my salvation, but at this time I am still saddened and burdened by this.
