Bible Question:
I have two friends who say they believe in God, but are having a problem with believing in Jesus and believing that one must accept his sacrifice as our passage way into Heaven. What are some of the best versus in the Bible that I can use to demonstrate to them that this is the only way? How can I share the blessing of faith? Thank you. |
Bible Answer: For starters, it has to be the Lord that reveals this truth to anyone. My suggestion would be to direct them into the gospel of John and have them read it for themselves, but before they read it, tell them to pray and ask God to reveal the truth that is contained there; that is why the book of John was written. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
