John 13:1 Now before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that His hour had come [and it was time] for Him to leave this world and return to the Father. Having [greatly] loved His own who were in the world, He loved them [and continuously loves them with His perfect love] to the end (eternally). |
Bible Question (short): Christ - crucified before or after the P |
Question (full): The three synoptic gospels have Jesus eating the Passover (Matthew 26:17-21, Mark 14:12-16, Luke 22:7-13) then being crucified. According to John, Jesus was crucified and slain at the same hour as the Passover lambs (John 13:1-2, John19:14,31). How is it that they can be different - either Jesus ate the last Passover with His disciples and was crucified the next day, or He was crucified during the preparation of the Passover? Thank you, Eugene |
