Subject: Jesus' head or feet anointed |
Bible Note: In Matthew 26 and Mark 14 the ointment was applied to Jesus head. In John 12 Mary anointed Jesus feet and wiped them with her hair and in Luke 7 a sinner woman washed Jesus feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair and anointed them with ointment. John's gospel does not say Jesus was in Simon the leper's house, although it does say Bethany was the town. John does not mention the alabaster box but does put the time at 6 days before passover. John's account says that Judas Iscariot was Simon's son. Was this happening at Simon the leper's who was Judas Iscariot's father? In the Life Application Bible Harmony of the Gospels chart of events in Jesus life, only Luke7 is listed as the 72nd event while the other three are listed as the 182nd event. That is the main reason I guess that I started on this quest to find out if there were two separate events of this. The important thing to remember is the lessons of the heart involved in these accounts. I know that but I was just wondering if anyone had any more insight into these accounts. Thank you. |
