Bible Question (short): Mary's annoint precede Lazarus ressurec? |
Question (full): John 11:2 seems to suggest that Mary's annointing of Jesus (John 12:3) preceded the ressurection of Lazarus. What confuses me is that the event depicted in John 12:3 actually took place only 6 days before the Passover as evidenced in John 12:1. A similar event is also depicted in Matt 26:7, which occurred 2 days before the Passover. Mattew's account is slightly different in that the woman (no name mentioned) poured the perfume on Jesus' head vice His feet (which is John's account). My questions are: (1) Did the annointing precede the Lazarus ressurrection? (2) Are these annointing events (Matt 26:7 and John 12:3) two separate events? iktoose |
