Bible Note: I agree! I always took this verse as sarcasm on Thomas' part also, since this is the same Thomas who had to see Jesus with his own eyes and put his hands on His nail pierced hands in order to believe the Resurrection. Also, the disciples' response in John 11:8 seems to support that. I was listening to a radio show on my way home from work last night and the pastor on the show referenced this verse and stated how sincere Thomas was in his loyalty, according to this verse. That got me to thinking, and I've gotten a good laugh after reading this verse too.. :) But his loyalty or intent was never questioned after the Resurrection and appearance of Jesus! Nolan |
