Bible Note: Response: Doc I did not assert that man does not yeild to sin. There is a difference in the issue of "who is the author of sin, which is opposition to God and his word on every subject" and "does mankind yeild to sin". Of course I gave you Ro 6:16 Know ye not, that TO whom you yield yourselves servants to obey,HIS servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness. The point being HIS is a personal pronoun denoting not a situation but a person. Mankind in the garden of Eden made a choice between two persons, God or satan, as we know they chose to obey satan. The result of that DISOBEDIENCE is called sin. Who was the author of subilty? Was it God or satan? Gen 3:1 Did God attempt to deceive the creatures he created in his own image? Gen 1:27? No, it was satan, the subtile one who wanted them to yield their obedience to him so they would be his servant as Romans 6:16 states very clearly. Can a man be drawn away of HIS OWN LUSTS (DESIRES)? Of course, but that was not the issue. Can a man be drawn away of his own will? Ro 7:18 Paul the man that wrote approx. 2/3 of the New testament, in describing the difference between the flesh and the spirit of man, stated about himself, "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing: for TO WILL is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not." If that was true about the man that God used to write most of the new testament, how much more is that true of every other human being? Paul, in plain Greek (tranlated to English), told us what the flesh is in that passage, it's his self will. Doing opposite, of what God said, in Plain Greek, English, and every other language, has stated is truth: is sin, the author of sin is satan and the perpetrator of sin is a man that yields to satan to obey him, doing opposite of Gods clearly stated word! You do realize that man is a spirit, he has a soul, and he lives in a body. Paul in I Thes 5:23 in praying for BELIEVERS not sinners, prayed: " I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ." (Preserved from what? sin! satan!) How do we know? God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in truth (and John 17:17 says truth is: God's word), and We are made in his image, Gen 1:27 which John 4:24 say God's image is spirit! If words mean anything, a child can discern this. The spirit is God's image. The soul is made up of mind, will and emotion. The Body is the flesh house your spirit and soul is lodged in. Otherwise why would the Apostle Paul state In I Thes 5:23 I pray God, your whole spirit, AND soul, AND body be preserved???? Mankind is a three part being! spirit, soul and body. Each part is separate and distinct. If a student of scripture cannot discern between what is being said about each of these distinct areas, they will never be able to correctly (rightly) divide the word of God.II Tim 2:15 If the word can be rightly divided, it can be wrongly divided. If it is rightly divided, God's truth shines forth out of darkness. If it is wrongly divided it shrouds in darkness and blinds the mind. Who is the blinder of minds? II Cor 4:4. I'm assuming you do not know that the "god of this world" is speaking of satan, since his name is not specifically mentioned. Ask yourself the question? Who is the opposser of God? Why does he oppose God? Is it wise to oppose God? Who is the most subtile creature in the universe? Who is the liar, Jesus identified? Who is the source of truth, Jesus identified? Are they exact opposites (the truth teller and the liar)? Are they both spirits? Are people spirit, soul and body? Does mankind operate only on a flesh, aka carnal, level only? Does mankind operate on a spiritual level, in the image of God? Can you discern what is spirit and what is flesh? Is there a difference between spirit and flesh? Can you identify the difference. I have not detected in your answers given to date that you are aware we are dealing with a natural world and a spiritual world simultaneously. While we are in a devil infested world system, we will deal with spirits called devils. I did not say any human had to obey satan, I did not say a human could not yield to satan, what I did say is, satan exists, you will have to deal with him as Jesus said to do in Mark 16:15-20 and it would do you good to quit fighting the obvious and get down to the business Jesus said to do "preach the gospel and cast out devils" among the other things he said to do. But first you must discern there are such things as devils, he is the oppressor, God tells the truth, and it is not up to God to agree with mankind, it is up to mankind to agree with God! |
