Bible Question:
Greetings Emmaus! It is amazing to me that although John was there on the mountain, he did not include the account of the transfiguration in his Gospel. Any thoughts about this? mommapbs |
Bible Answer: Mommaps, John's was very different from the Synoptic Gospels. Almost as if he was filling in the blanks from the Synoptics and casting his Gospel in a more theological mold. He also had a unique struction build around the Feast days of the Jewish Liturgigal calendar. Exactly why he did not include the Transfiguration I don't know. He also did not have any apocalyptic passages in his Gospel like the ones in Matt 24-25. He saved all that for a separate book: Revelation. Emmaus |
