Bible Question: What do ( ) mean in NASB? |
Bible Answer: Hi onlyaberean, Parentheses in the NASB will mean what they mean in any English sentence. However, you may be refering to a system of parentheses that I personally use and have gotten out of the habit of mentioning. For my posts using the NASB primarily, I often put in parentheses for comparing verses with their nouns and pronouns. If that is the confusion, I apologize and will state that the parentheses are mine. ******* John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with (God), and the Word was God." John 1:12, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in (His) name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,..." ********* The parentheses are mine for comparisons and showing oneness. From the heart, Ray |
