Bible Question (short): what was the reason |
Question (full): What are we supposed to learn from this story? What was the purpose for Jesus to be going there in the first place? These people were not Jews, they even raised swine. Mark 5:1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. There isn't any reason given for this trip. These people lived on the eastern side of the Jordan. When the man who was delivered, wanted to go with Jesus, he was told to go home. Was the reason for this, because he was not a Jew? His home was apparently in Decapolis. The only thing I can come up with is in. Mark 4:37-41 We are told there was a storm that night, that was swamping the boat. Maybe they headed for the closest land to make repairs? Where this story then unfolds. From what the disciples said. 41.) And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? They didn't have a clue who he was, or what he was all about. Vintage68 |
