Bible Question: Luke 7:36-48, In verse 41-42 How does this parable apply to the pharisee who's home jesus was in? |
Bible Answer: Dear Sally, Welcome to the forum! Forgiveness results in love. Christ's parable compares the woman with the Pharisee. The woman in the remission of her sins had a very great debt paid which realizing, drove her to this radical and extravagant act of worship. The Pharisee esteemed his own debt of sin to be insignificant, so he showed little love or respect for Jesus, even to the point of failing to perform the minimal acts of politeness common in his society.
