Bible Note: Hi Walking Talking Bible, I would like to talk about a few ways that you and I look at things differently and still not disagree with each other. The first difference would be pointed out by looking at the interpretation of the NKJ and NASB for 2 Corinthians 10:4. 2 Corinthians 10:4, NASB, "for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but *divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 2 Corinthians 10:4, NKJ, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in *God for pulling down strongholds,..." Is the power "divinely powerful" or "mighty in God" or the marginal note in the NASB "mighty before God"? We are saying the same things, but if we say "divinely powerful" then we leave out the pronoun of Deity. My question then is: Are you open to the idea of a filling by the Holy Spirit of holy spirit? I noticed and agreed with you writing in explanation that the Holy Spirit is not an "it", that really you were talking about (Him). My question there however would be: "Do we use Him (it) or do we belong to God?" Do we have the gift of the holy spirit, from the Power? Can we agree with Mark 14:62, "Jesus said, 'I am; and you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven." From the heart, Ray |
