Subject: Do you believe once save, always saved. |
Bible Note: Jesus seeks us, yes. However, He extends to us an invitation to come to Him. Matthew 11:28: "COME unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." John 6:37: "All that the Father giveth me shall COME to me; and him that COMETH to me I will in no wise cast out." Revelation 22:17: "And the Spirit and the bride say, COME. And let him that heareth say, COME. And let him that is athirst COME. And whosoever will, let him TAKE the water of life FREELY." Remember, Jesus doesn't use force. He invites us to COME. All who accept the invitation will COME to Him, and He has promised never to turn any one away. I agree totally that we are saved by grace alone (Ephesians 2:8,9). I also believe with all my heart that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). I also believe that if after any had escaped the pollutions of the world, but becomes entangled in those pollutions again, and are overcome, the latter end is worse than the beginning (2 Peter 2:20). For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment... (verse 21). I also believe that "The just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him" (Hebrews 10:38).
