Bible Question: once sasved always saved? |
Bible Answer: Michale123: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Often what is ment by this statement is how little can I do and still be assured I will make it to heaven, or how much sin can I keep doing and still be saved. Both statements are very dangerious. Believers who are seeking to OBEY and FOLLOW don'y even ask such a question. When we FOLLOW Jesus we have ASSURANCE. Christ Jesus gives us peace and love that fills the void that makes us wonder is once we are saved are we always saved. It is ture this has been debated over the hundred of years, but the HONEST truth is it's a nul and void question that a genuine born again FOLLOWER of Jesus does not even have to think about. 1 Jonn 1 the complete chapter deals with the problem of when we sin. Psalm 37 is where david was dealing with his sin. If David committed adultery, killed the womans husband, and hid his sin, lied, and confessed his sin, and God forgave him, do you think God can't forgive us as well? John 10 Jesus says a genuine FOLLOWER can not be taken away from His keeping us safe in His hand. The Holy Spirit lives in us as a proof positive we are HIS forever. Now either The HOLY WORD of GOD is true and we can TREUST the LORDs ability to keep HIS WORD and KEEP UD or the BIBLE is not true. I assure you it;s true. Yes we are sinners, big sinners, but GOD is so much bigger and JESUS Christ shed blood has saved us ! Now lets re state the statement. Genuine FOLLOWERS of Jesus Christ are saved forever, by GODs ability and love. The ability for us to save our self is impossible, ONLY GOD SAVES US AND KEEPS US ETERNALLY. Only Jesu saves us, we show our faith by FOLLOWING and OBEYING by the faith He gives us. |
