Subject: Do the dead praise God? |
Bible Note: The rich man and Lazarus was a parable Jesus used to teach us to be faithful stewards with whatever God blesses us with, and not to neglect the "Lazarus'" of the world. The poor and needy, the lost, the hopeless, Jesus was not saying that we are judged immediately after we die. That would be contradicting what He said in (John 5:28-29). We are judged at His second-coming. Furthermore, Abraham is not in heaven,(according to Hebrews 11:39-40), nor is David (Acts 2:29-35) or the other patriarchs except Enoch, Moses, Elijah and those who raised from the dead along with our Lord, Jesus (Matt 27:51-53). Absent from the body, present with the Lord meaning, when our breath leaves our body, the next conscious thing we are going to experience is the resurrection. It does'nt say absent from the body, IMMEDIATELY PRESENT with the Lord. When God told Adam and Eve that they would surely die, did they die IMMEDIATELY after they ate the forbidden fruit? NO! But they surely did die years later! |
